United Nations Historical Security Council: Six Day War: Controversies, Land for Peace and Resolution 242 (1967)

GUIA DE ESTUDOS

Welcome back to 1967. This moment is critical for the History of the World. We’re coming to an end to the War that has caused the most significant turmoil in the Middle East for the past five decades. It is now your job, Mrs and Mr Delegates, to find a way to settle this Arab-Israeli conflict in a way that a long-standing peace can be achieved. Furthermore, you will have to deal with some delicate issues concerning the subject, such as the more than 60.000 refugees that are now far away from their homes as a direct consequence of the conflict, the land establishment issue and many others to be considered. The United Nations Security Council is an organ idealized as a mechanism to, overall, maintain international peace. This third Arab-Israeli War is a direct affront to peace not only locally, but also in the international sphere. And the power to solve this, Mr and Mrs Delegates, is now in your hands.

Hello, Dear Delegates,
My name is Ana Clara, I’m 20 years old and I am a student of International Relations at PUC-Rio. I’ve been delegate while in school at Modelo Diplomático Agostiniano, in Colégio Santo Agostinho, although this is my first time as director of the United Nations Security Council and first time in MIRIN. I really want you guys to enjoy the debate as much as we liked making it happen!!
See you by July!

Beatriz Calmon

Hello Mrs. Delegates,
I’m Beatriz and I’ll be your director at UNSC-Mirin this year. I study International Relations at PUC and I’m 20 years old. Last year I had my first experience with United Nations Models and it was memorable. In a way, I’m still kind of a freshman in this world, so I hope you guys can help me to build a serious and remarkable committee to us.
Now, about myself, you should know that I’m seriously addicted to chocolate, in other words, if you want to please the chair, you already know what to do. I also love what I study and, knowing that some of you are still deciding what to study in college, it would be more than a pleasure to share this passion for International Relations with you.
Above all, this committee is being especially made for you guys, so I hope you like it and have really good times together.
See you all there!
